Organization Profile

Dutchess County Sheep and Wool Growers Association

DCSWGA produces the NYS Sheep and Wool Festival, which hosts 30,000+ people annually in Rhinebeck's fairgrounds for fiber arts workshops, livestock shows, fleece shows and sales and oodles of vendors from all over the USA. Always the 3rd full weekend in October, the festival is a core event supporting the DCSWGA mission to promote, sheep and fiber production, fiber arts and craftmanship in the northeast. We divide the organizing up by venues (merchandising, competitions, livestock shows, vendors, 4H, etc) and anyone can volunteer with any area. Lamb, sheep's milk cheese and other food product promotion are also part of the DCSWGA mission. Volunteers gain free entry to the festival and are requested to serve at least 4 hours. Meal vouchers available for select food vendors, also.
